August 2000 To whom it may concern Susan Branting served as editor for the College of Arts and Sciences at the University of Wyoming from fall 1994 until July 2000, except for one year's leave. I was her supervisor during that time. The editor's position included responsibilities for designing, writing, publishing and distributing three newsletters: a quarterly for alumni, a quarterly for students, and six issues of an internal publication for college faculty and staff. In addition, the editor created programs for commencements, honors convocations and award banquets. As editor, she also designed brochures, ads and flyers, wrote Public Service Announcements and news releases, and edited reports. The job included miscellaneous related activities such as planning photo shoots and designing award certificates and holiday greeting cards. Susan brought exceptional skills, talent, hard work and professionalism to the job. She was an independent worker, but a responsible team player. I particularly appreciated her capacity to generate ideas and willingness to adopt suggestions from colleagues. Susan was remarkably easy to work with because she is open, direct and quick-qualities that complement her intelligence and fine sense of humor. She writes and edits very well. I could always count on her to turn a first draft into a polished, coherent piece. My only problem with writing this recommendation is that I can't ask her to review it for me! Anyone retaining her services will be pleased with her performance. I wholeheartedly recommend her for any job related to what she did for the College of Arts and Sciences.
